Dee Watson of Watson Lumber, Mt. Holly, AR passed away on January 20, 2005. He was 76.
Mr. Watson learned the value of hard work at the early age of 14, when he logged with a pair of mules. In 1963, he went to work as a logging contractor for Deltic Farm and Timber.
In 1983, Mr. Watson, along with his wife and two sons, started Watson Sawmill. He sold his logging equipment and devoted his time to buying timber for the sawmill. He was never far from the activities of the mill or his family.
Watson loved to share his love for, and knowledge of life to each of his hunting buddies and log hauling friends.
He was a lifelong member of Silver Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lurlean, two sons, Pete and Donald, and daughter, Carolyn, and seven grandchildren.
